3 Steps to Getting More Blog Traffic

Creating a blog is simple with either WordPress or Blogger. But how to you get traffic to your blog? After all, what's the use of having a blog if nobody comes by to visit? 1. Post New Content Regularly

A common mistake many new bloggers make is not posting on a regular basis, especially at the beginning. You have to give people a reason to visit your new blog. It's best to post daily for the first month and then a few times per week after that.

Blogs are a favorite of search engines because there is new content added on a regular basis but if you make frequent posts neither the search engines nor blog visitors will return with any regularity. 2. Make Comments on Relevant Blogs

Another way to increase blog traffic is to make comments on other blogs. The best way is to find high PR links from blogs on the same topic. You can use your favorite search engine or Google's BlogSearch tool. You shouldn't have much problem finding several blogs on similar topics.

When you find a new blog take a few minutes to read a few posts. Since it's a topic similar to your blog, you shouldn't have any trouble making a useful comment to one of the posts. Leave your name and a link to your blog with the comment. You'll notice that some readers will like your comment and want to click your link and visit your blog.

3. RSS

Really Simple Syndication or RSS is a popular way to share your blog with readers. It allows visitors to subscribe to your blog's RSS feed. Several autoresponder services such as aweber have the capability to send an email notification whenever a new blog post is created.

RSS works very similar to an opt-in list. You just put a simple form on your blog and allow visitors to provide their name and an email address.
